On July 12, 2023, Egypt celebrated a significant achievement as Honghua Egypt EPHH successfully delivered a locally manufactured 2000-horsepower fully automatic land drilling machine. With support from China’s Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited, this marks a major breakthrough in Egypt’s oil and gas equipment sector, addressing a longstanding gap. This accomplishment holds great importance for Egypt’s oil and gas industry.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, the Governor of the Suez Province, Abdel Mageed Sakr, and the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, Zhang Chaoyang. The ceremony received extensive coverage in media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency. Ambassador Zhang Chaoyang emphasized the significance of this successful project in enhancing cooperation between China and Egypt, highlighting its role as a model for the China-Egypt Belt and Road Initiative.
